TESTAMONIALS FROM STUDENTS AND SUPPORTERS

Knowing the Charles City community believed in my future and the future of my fellow 2014 CCHS graduates is something I will always remember and appreciate.  I am now able to provide that same support as a DFS board members.  It is an honor to be a part of the community program that supported me!

Rachel Page, Class of 2014 and current board member

"By helping students reach for their goals and dreams, you open the doors for their successes. With these successes they will be able to help their community by doing exactly what the DFS program does"

"I received a DFS scholarship designated for a student going into education. I am so grateful to this wonderful organization, they helped to make my dream of becoming a teacher a reality"

Chris and I are life-long Charles City residents who wish to support area students in meeting their goals of secondary education. We sponsor a scholarship annually to benefit a current student and donate yearly to the Charles City Area Dollars for Scholars Endowment Fund in the Floyd County Community Foundation to provide assistance to future students."

Lisa Garden, scholarship sponsor and former board member

"Kip & I are most pleased to honor and support a high school graduate each year. We value education and wish to help any student in any way we can...as these are our future. Thanks to the committee for this opportunity! It does take a village to raise child."

Judy & Kip Hauser, scholarship sponsor

"I was excited when many years ago our community came together to start a Dollars for Scholars chapter to assist in the critical task of making access to college a real possibility for ALL students. The banner above our Middle School front door says "The Safeguard of Our Nation" I truly believe there is no better way the citizens of this great country can invest in the continued strength and safety of our nation than to be certain our kids know they live in a community that encourages and supports their efforts to continue education well beyond high school. That is the message of CC Dollars for Scholars to kids K-12, in our community."

Stewart Coulson, former Middle School Counselor and founding member of Charles City Area Dollars for Scholars
