HOW TO APPLY?   SIMPLY LOG IN AND COMPLETE THE STUDENT PROFILE ON THIS WEBSITE!!!

 

 Your submitted profile will serve as an application for our Dollars for Scholars scholarships.

After you have completed your profile, log in to your profile and navigate to the "My Scholarships" page.  After January 1, 2024, You will be able to view possible scholarship matches and, with a few clicks, be able to submit your profile as an application for those scholarships. Some scholarships may require additional information but the website will guide you through the process.  You will need to submit your profile for each individual scholarship. Deadline for submission is 11:59 p.m. on February 29, 2024.

Students need to use a permanent email address so if you have started your profile using your school email address, please edit your email address on your profile.  Your school email will be deactivated when you graduate and we need to be able to communicate with you next year while you are away at college.

Use the following guidelines for the essay questions:

GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS ESSAY - Required            State your goals as to your education and future career and describe your plan to accomplish these goals. Explain what circumstances have affected your decision to pursue further education in your chosen major and how you have prepared for these studies. The scoring for this essay will be based on content not form and there is no required length.  We just ask that you keep your answer under 250 words.  Your essay should cover the following points:

  1. Immediate educational goals - state what you will be majoring in and where you will attend college
  2. Your chosen career and why you chose this career
  3. What have you already done to prepare for this goal - classes taken, volunteer activities, work experience etc.
  4. Future plans with career/education

 

UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCES ESSAY - Optional          Describe any obstacles or difficulties you have overcome or expect to encounter in the future.   Obstacles or difficulties may include recent personal tragedy, illness, disability, divorce or other family issues, parental unemployment, financial need, etc.  Basically any unusual circumstances you would like us to take into consideration.  The scoring for this essay will be based on content not form and there is no required length.  We just ask that you keep your answer under 250 words.   

Obtain parental consent

If you are under age 16 you will need a parent to log-in (they will need a different email from yours) and give consent for your profile application.  If you are over age 16 the parental consent is not needed.

Request current transcript

Before submitting your profile as an application for a scholarship, make sure you requested a current transcript from the counselor verifying the GPA information you entered.   GPA must include the 1st semester of your senior year.

Review and submit

Be sure to carefully review your profile before submitting as an application for any scholarship to make sure all sections are complete. Double check that you have parental consent (if required), and a current transcript request to the counselor.   Double check that all additional information required by a specific scholarship is included. The website allows you to submit an incomplete profile as an application but it will be considered as an incomplete application and you may not be eligible for a scholarship.  DEADLINE FOR SUBMITING  YOUR PROFILE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A SCHOLARSHIP IS 11:59 P.M. ON FEBRUARY 29, 2024.
